What a Weekend!
Wow, this weekend was crazy! It started out at a Friday night speaking engagement for a church lock-in. Our band also played a worship set that was great. Sound was poor, but it still turned out well. Saturday AM I drove one of my “former” youth :-) to Chowan University in Murfreesboro, NC. Levi was a great student of mine and now is just a great friend! Sad he’s gone, but look forward to building a more equal-level friendship. Chowan was pretty cool. Small, but you were welcomed everywhere. Churches set up free food tents in hopes to get new prospects and build relationships. It was a different experience, as I went to all public universities/schools.
Saturday afternoon evening was a family time along with some sermon prep for Sunday. Then of course Sunday came. I don’t know if you know what Sunday has been like for me this summer, but I’ll give you a little peek…
- 6am - rise and shine
- 7am - arrive at church
- 7:30am - band practice
- 8:15am - worship service (lead worship)
- 9:15am - load bus for the beach/go over sermon
- 10:15am - leave for beach/begin set up
- 11am - beach service (preach)
- 11:45am - break down/load up
- 12:30pm - go home, SLEEP
All in a “half day’s” work! After church yesterday, Katie and I went on a nice relaxing afternoon on the boat (for our anniversary, 6yrs). My bro and his wife watched the girls for us. So after some DQ we picked up the girls and watched “The Devil Wears Prada” after they went to bed.
A crazy weekend it was, now time to get to work. If you read this far, thanks for indulging me :-) Have a good week.
