Financial Jesus

Sometimes being away from the job can be a huge blessing as it was when we went to camp. However, coming back to the job, especially after a spiritual “high”, is very difficult. It makes me not want to catch up on the mundane stuff that I am required to do (like making copies of music, catching up on emails that I coule have replied to at camp but chose not to, etc). When you’re forced back to real life, you can almost count on having a spiritual hang-over after a great God-experience. Why is this? It’s so hard to have a life that is dedicated to Christ and is on continuous, non-volatile, uphill trend. Instead, our spiritual journey looks more like the Dow Jones over the last year. We have a huge peak and then a huge crash and then ups and downs after that.

I guess that’s what grace is all about. God allows us to have our ups and downs so we can see how great He is. As long as our “trendline” (overall average over time) is going up, we are growing in this process of salvation. How volatile is your life with Jesus?
